Kerala Beach with Backwater Tour

Destination : Trivandrum – Kovalam – Alleppey – Kumarakom – Cochin

Day 01 : Arrive Trivandrum – Kovalam (16 kms / ½ hr)
Today on your arrival at Trivandrum airport, our company representative shall meet you and greet you. The capital city of the Indian state of Kerala, Trivandrum is bounded by the wooded highlands of the Western Ghats in the east and northeast, and the Arabian Sea in the west. It is located on the west coast of India near the extreme south of the mainland. A long shoreline with secluded, internationally renowned historic monuments, beaches, hill stations, backwater stretches and a rich cultural heritage are awaiting you here. Later proceed towards the sightseeing tour of Trivandrum visiting Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple which is one of the major attractions in the city one of the richest temples in the world. The temple is known for its mural paintings and stone carvings, and a blend of Kerala and Dravidian styles of architecture. Napier Museum, built in 1880 and shows a harmonious blending of Kerala, Mughal, Chinese and Italian architectural styles (Closed on Sunday’s & Wednesday’s). Sri Chitra Art Gallery, displays selected paintings by Raja Ravi Varma, Svetlava & Nicholas Roerich, including some exquisite works from the Rajput, Mughal and Tanjore schools of art in India (closed on all Monday’s & Wednesday’s). Later after sightseeing drive towards Kovalam which is just 16 kms away and a half hour drive from Trivandrum. Evening is free at leisure to relax on beach. Overnight stay is in Kovalam.

Day 02 : Kovalam
Today you full day is free at leisure to relax on the beach. Overnight stay is in Kovalam.

Day 03 : Kovalam – Alleppey (170 kms / 03 ½ hrs)

Today early in morning after having lavish breakfast in hotel continue your drive towards Alleppey. Alleppey is one of the most important tourist destination in India and enchanting backwater regions of Kerala. On arrival at Alleppey, embark your private houseboat and cruise on the Backwaters, a splendid area full of canals, lakes and coves. The houseboat will cruise through tropical countryside amidst tranquilizing backwaters and palm trees. Your houseboats or ‘Kettuvalloms’ are luxurious boats with well-appointed bedrooms and en suite bathrooms. You can sunbathe on the deck or observe the palm fringed landscape from your cabins. As you cruise along the backwaters you can see paddy fields and other charming places. Have your lunch on banana leaf in a traditional and healthy way. Today the crew and chef will be at your disposal and will look after all your requirements. Overnight stay is in houseboat. (Full Board)

Day 04 : Alleppey – Kumarakom (60 kms / 1 ½ hrs)

Today have your lavish breakfast in your houseboat. Later disembark the houseboat from Alleppey and drive towards Kumarakom, blessed with unsurpassable naturally bounty. Kumarakom is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna and world famous for its backwater tours. On arrival at Kumarakom, check in to your backwater resort. Later after some relaxation visit the famous Kumarakom bird sanctuary – is situated in Kottayam district in the Indian state of Kerala, on the banks of Vembanad Lake, at the heart of Kerala Backwaters with hundreds of houseboats crisscrossing it. Today when you will be on your sightseeing, you have a great opportunity here to photograph the amazing species of birds such as Siberian Crane, cuckoo, waterfowl, egret, ducks and many more. Evening is free to relax and enjoy the Ayurveda massages in the Resort. Overnight stay is in Kumarakom.

Day 05 : Kumarakom – Cochin (80 kms / 02 hrs)
Morning have your breakfast in resort. Later continue your drive towards Cochin - A port town since early centuries which offers some fascinating snippets of history and culture. It is long famed in the history books, Cochin offered refuge to Jews more than 2,500 years ago. On arrival at Cochin, transfer to your pre-booked hotel. Later after some relaxation proceed for the sightseeing tour of Cochin. Visit St Francis Church - believed to be one of the oldest churches built by the Europeans in India which is well-known for its beautiful architecture and ambience. Chinese Fishing Nets, the unique style of huge cantilevered fishing nets which were erected between 1350 and 1450 AD by Chinese traders. Jewish Synagogue, oldest Synagogue in the Commonwealth constructed in 1568 (Closed on Saturday’s). The area around the Synagogue is the center for Spice & Handicraft shops. Hill Palace Museum - a fully-fledged archeological museum and Kerala’s first ever Heritage Museum (Closed on Monday’s). Lastly visit Santa Cruz Basilica originally built in 1557 by the Portuguese and the famous Dutch Palace at Mattancherry which is renowned for its wall murals depicting scenes from the Hindu religion epics. Later in evening witness a Kathakali dance performance. It is the most recognized dance drama form in Kerala which dates back to the seventeenth century and is deeply rooted in mythology, taking it themes from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Also you have a golden opportunity to photograph yourself along with the artists of the dance show wearing colorful costumes as a souvenir. Overnight stay is in Cochin.

Day 06 : Cochin Depart

Today morning on time transfer to Cochin airport to board your onward journey flight.
